Great atmosphere
Hops & HoundsWe had a great time at Hops & Hounds with our pup, Oakley! They had live music, great drink specials, and Oakley loved his puppuccino. They also had a menu of dog beer and special drinks. We weren’t sure about the off leash area cause Oak had never been to a dog park but he loved interacting with the other dogs and exploring. We came here on our last night of vacation but wish we would’ve found it sooner to go more than once!
Doggywood Cottages
Doggywood at DollywoodWe took our two miniature schnauzers to Doggywood while we spent the day riding coasters at Dollywood. The best part about this was the fact that we could check on & love on our fur babies as much as we wanted! The check-in process was easy & everyone was extremely nice & helpful. I definitely recommend the cottages over the kennels as they are a little more private & quiet for your dogs (there is a weight limit however).
Great experience!
Cactus Cantinawe lucked out & visited on a night with margarita specials! Our fur baby enjoyed nibbles of cheese dip & the waitress brought out water for him. Although outdoor seating isn’t as common, we still received great service & the food was delicious!
Awesome!
Shaggy's Pensacola BeachOakley loved Shaggy’s! From the treat he received upon arrival, to the fresh bowl of water, and the special dog menu he was spoiled the entire time! We ordered the Bird Dog (chicken & rice) which included two nice sized chicken breasts that he was able to split & eat over a few nights since he is a smaller breed. The souvenir frisbee was the perfect touch which he played with at the beach the next day! Definitely recommend & would visit again for sure!
Peaceful area
Pensacola Beach East Dog ParkMuch less busy than West beach & Oakley was able to explore a little more. We took some great photos around sunset and found so many pretty seashells.
Busy Beach Fun!
Pensacola Beach West Dog ParkOakley wasn’t too sure what to think of the sand but he had a great time exploring. It was extremely busy with other dog families on a weekend but we enjoyed setting up a nice spot and walking up & down the beach.
Great service
Shrimp BasketWe ate here with our pup and the waitress was very nice in explaining the menu & offering quick service. The location was right off a major road so it was a little loud but great proximity to our Airbnb stay. The food was delicious & the patio was cooled well with fans.
Down on Grayson
Down On GraysonWe had a great lunch here with our pup, Oakley. They brought water for him and he enjoyed the view. I’m sure it is even prettier at night with the lights they had hung. They were decorated for Christmas and Oak got to take a picture by their tree. The food was amazing and the waitress was really nice!
Delicious food
Embers Wood Fired Grill & BarThe food was great but it was freezing when we went and they had no heaters on their patio. We were able to have Oakley with us on the patio but took our food to go as soon as it came out due to the weather. Could’ve been a better experience but Oakley wasn’t picky!
Alamo
The AlamoWe had our pup, Oakley in a stroller in the paved area in front of the Alamo and the officer there never said anything to us. We were able to snap a quick picture and go about our walk around the other downtown streets. Of course he wasn’t allowed inside so we did not ask anyone.
River walk
San Antonio River WalkDefinitely recommend doing the smaller downtown area loop of the Riverwalk. It was our first time to visit and we weren’t impressed with the longer stretches. The downtown area near Commerce street had much more going on with more for Oakley to see and explore. It was a chilly morning but going early was great as by 12pm there were many people filling the walkway.
Christmas at the Canverns
Christmas at the CavernsThis was worth every penny since many places do not allow dogs with Christmas light displays. Having our pup, Oakley, limited the activities but their website clearly stated what was included. The Trail of Lights was pretty and plenty of good spots to stop off and take photos. The gourmet hot chocolate hit the spot on that cold night as well!
Gatlinburg Trail
Great Smoky Mountains National ParkWe walked our 2 dogs on the Gatlinburg trail which was nice but there were several other dogs due to being the only dog friendly trail. My elderly dog (13 years old) got tired halfway through so I carried him most of the way. There were plenty of places for them to stop off to drink water from the streams. Only negative is there are no trash cans so I was stuck carrying a poop bag until we returned to the main strip.
The trail was beautiful but the most successful stops for us were along the road where you could access the streams (especially if your dog is not fond of many other dogs).
Patriot Park
Patriot ParkThis was a great place to take our dogs for some fresh air. The cabin we were staying at had a steep incline so it was nice for them to potty on level ground. We enjoyed the water & watching the ducks. There was some construction in progress but overall a nice walk.
