Not great

Hampton Inn & Suites Wells

We stayed here once before (with 2 dogs) and was charged a flat $50 pet fee (or less). The staff was not great. When I called to inquire about the pet policy, he didn’t even mention that the entire first floor was flooded and had dryers everywhere and had no breakfast or amenities. Ok, things happen. Fast forward to this visit. Pet policy on the Hilton website says $50 pet fee up to two pets - nothing about PER PET. Two strikes they are out.

Pet friendly and super clean!

Hampton Inn Evanston

Yes, there is a $50 pet fee. But I was traveling with two dogs and this was a one time fee for 1-2 dogs one to four nights (not per pet or per night). Most other hotels in the area charge $20 per pet per night… so this was a non issue for me. They had pet areas with waste bags/trash and even a dirt lot (covered with snow) for oversized vehicles that my pup could get some beans out. Have stayed a few times and it is my go-to in this area.

Truck stop with Dog park &Carl’s Jr

Carl's Jr.

Great newer truck stop with two grassy fenced parks for our pups! Carl’s Jr had friendly and fast service, and the food was tasty…. We will stop every time!

Liked it - but didn’t love it

Home2 Suites by Hilton Elko

The good: room was very clean and comfortable. The front desk staff was super friendly and accommodating. In the Hilton App, only queen beds were available. I called and she said they were switching to be all kings but the app hadn’t been updated but she’d upgrade us when we checked in. Turned out to be a super comfy KING bed!

Not so great: area for dogs is super small and Astro turf (my dogs are picky and wouldn’t use it). No biggie I just walked a little further. The thing that made me take a “bone” away was the design of the room. We were in a downstairs suite and the bathroom was an accessible room… and some genius designed it with barn doors that don’t seal. Not ideal when traveling with anyone else…

Great place for road trip stopover

Best Western Plus Burley Inn & Convention Center

Comfy beds, clean room and friendly staff. This hotel had a ton of grassy areas for our two dogs, and all rooms open to the courtyard rather than an interior hallway, which made it easy to take the dogs out. We were given an upstairs room, and I didn’t think about it until my blind golden retriever was gingerly going up the stairs. Worked out fine though, they had an elevator on one corner that we used. The hotel supplied plenty of well-stocked pet cleanup stations, and it appeared that most all pet people were good about cleaning up after their pets. There is a bar and restaurant on the premises that were convenient, and the pool and hot tiny (outdoor) looked nice (didn’t use). We would stay again - maybe even try the Budget Motel on the same property. Plenty of parking for big trucks/trailers too.
