Good in a pinch
Best Western Plus Carousel Inn & SuitesWe needed a very last minute room (too exhausted to keep driving that night) and stopped here. The room was basic but clean and comfortable. The only drawback, as far as our dog was concerned, was there is NO grassy area for pets to relieve themselves. Our dog would not potty in the rocks.
Beautiful Hotel
Drury Plaza Hotel St Louis at the ArchI had a love/hate feeling about the location of this hotel. Pro: seriously RIGHT by the Arch & right by the National Park. Con: it felt unsafe right outside the hotel at night & the gated garage felt very unsafe. People were smoking pot in their cars. The hotel itself was great! THE most comfortable bed I’ve slept in on our cross country trip. The shower head looked like it was going to be amazing but actually didn’t have great pressure. The gentleman at the front desk was very friendly and helpful, and I felt like we were very welcome, and our dog, too! If we hadn’t brought our dog, this next part wouldn’t be an issue. In order to take him out to potty, we had to leave hotel property to go to the park on the adjacent corner, which didn’t feel safe at night.
Great location!
La Quinta by Wyndham FlagstaffComfy beds, plenty of space for dogs to potty, helpful and friendly front desk staff.
No pet relief area!
Best Western Desert Villa InnWe only stayed here because the drive was getting too long to continue. Front desk was very friendly, and the bed was very comfortable. Room was very basic, but it worked for one night. The biggest drawback is there is no sort of grass anywhere for your dog to do his business. My dog isn’t used to desert living and refused to go in the patches of rock.
Great location!
La Quinta by Wyndham West MemphisThe only improvement I’d make is that they offered no doggy treats.
Comfortable!
Fairfield Inn & Suites Amarillo AirportEverything was very nice. We had a great night’s sleep! Our dog was very happy and there were decent areas to walk and potty him. My only complaint: every room on our floor (2nd) was labeled “Non-smoking”, but the entire floor/hallway absolutely reeked of cigarette smoke! I don’t know how our room didn’t smell, so that was a blessing.
