Bad management

This is a negative review because the Village Inn lied about the room rate and bed size and when given the opportunity to correct the problem they chose to ignore it and take no action. I booked a queen size bed for two adults and a pet. When we checked in the front desk clerk announced one guest and one pet for a queen size room. When I showed my confirmation was for two adults the response was "That's BringFido's confirmation not ours, you owe us $15 plus tax for the additional guest."

I paid the higher rate and went to our room only to see a 54x75 inch full size bed. Back to the front desk to be told “No one has ever mentioned that wasn’t a queen size bed." Therefore I guess it must be a queen size (60x80). How bizarre! The extra guest fee was only $16.34 with tax, but I contacted BringFido anyway since other guests were subjected to this bait and switch per their review. BringFido contacted the hotel management who refused to do anything about the rate or the incorrect bed size.

The hotel management must be aware that such a small dollar amount will be absorbed by the customer or if a dispute is opened with a bank or credit card, they will cover the claim as good will with no repercussions for the hotel. This was the case for me. It is sad to see people who lie go unchallenged.

Great staff!

Everyone at the hotel was very friendly to us and our dog. Rooms were large and clean. Will be back!

Pictures are deceiving

Dog lovers are housed in the basement. Our room was probably a storage closet when the building was constructed. The floors were concrete, painted sometime in their life, the window looked into a mechanical pit with hoses stretched past the glass. There was no closet just one hanger on a wall hook. The room had no chairs or a table, it was too small to fit. If you had a pet, you had to agree to a urine fine, feces fine, scratched furniture fine and a disturbing the neighbors fine. Not a problem since nothing would make the floor look worse and there was no furniture in the room to get damaged. Can’t comment on breakfast since they decided to stop serving early and we couldn’t eat. Not surprising that no one on the staff ever asked “ how was our stay.” Maybe they didn’t want to know. Pros: inexpensive, clean room, and beautiful bathroom.
