Great time!
River Street - Savannah Riverfront AreaLove this area! Everyone is so welcoming to pets, which is the best part.
Great time!
Old Savannah ToursThey were very accommodating for my 42 lb Aussie! It was a great bus ride and our driver was very knowledgeable. We all learned a lot and got to see the beautiful architecture of Savannah. I will say that if your dog is larger than lap/purse size, you definitely want the front seats because the middle has no leg room.
Manager tried to gaslight us
Frosty Frog CafeOkay so, yeah, they are pet friendly, but they said they were only pet friendly outside. So we’re outside freezing to death, miserable, and I walk inside to use the restroom and there’s a room with about five or six dogs in there. I ask the first lady I see (who turns out to be the manager) if they’re having some sort of dog party, and she says no - that they are “service dogs”. I had even clarified “you’re saying all of those dogs are all service animals, every single one of them?” and she said they were. All she had to do was say it was a special dog friendly section of the restaurant that was full, but instead she lied and tried to say they were service animals and that’s why they were inside while we froze to death outside. That immediately upset me, the gaslighting bit, as I have experience with service dogs and the training it takes to create one. I go back to my table, and the whole family is shivering and I tell my family member about all the dogs inside, so he gets upset and goes inside and speaks to the same woman about it. She comes out and says “If you would have given me time to explain, I would have told you that we have a room for dogs separate from every thing else, but it’s full”, which is a lie because she had plenty of time say whatever she wanted, and she chose to tell me that all of those dogs were service animals, a lie!, and disrespectful to genuine service animals. My family member thankfully got us moved into the dog room by the end of our meal so we could have some heat and protection from the cold, but it was just the way the manager handled it all that didn’t set right with me. The food was terrible too, maybe because she was caught lying about service dogs… I ended up not even eating. At least our waitress was nice and brought my dog some water.
Cool park!
Tom Triplett Dog ParkThis was a nice dog park. I like that they have two different sections. Honestly, it gets so busy that they should really add another section, maybe one on the other side of the road.
Gorgeous area!
Alder Lane Beach AccessThe family and I stopped here with my dog. We had a lovely time walking around, and the access point to the beach has a runway that makes it much easier for disabled individuals to get to the beach and be included in the fun. My mom could walk to the ocean easily.
Wonderful theater!
Park Plaza Cinema Hilton Head IslandGetting to take your dog to the cinema is such a wonderful experience. This was our first time. My dog met their Chinese Crested pup and they seemed to like each other. It was so nice getting to watch a movie with my girl, and a place that accommodates pets in this way is truly a gem. Such a rare find. Can’t wait to go back next time we’re in town!
