More Like A 3.8! Not To Bad!

I’m moving out of the area and this place will be missed by my dog and myself when we’re gone. He learned off leash recall here and tested out the ocean for the first time here. It’s not a dog park by any means but, dogs are pretty well tolerated by the people and other dogs at the park. It has access to the mystic river and you can allow your dog to go in the water at their own risk. here’s where it looses its stars. the beach is kind of a polluted mess of seaweeds, rocks, plastics, broken glass bottles, lots of dead ocean life like jelly’s, fish, clams, periwinkles, and some stuff I can’t even tell what it is. so beware the water here. my dog is very smart and listens well and I am still very nervous about him when we are here sometimes. He loves every minute of it. at low tide he runs out into the middle of the river on sand dunes and try’s to find shells and never wants to leave. there is also a massive field that people use for picnicking, tight-lines, events, cookouts, dogs play fetch and my dog loves to chase the Canadian geese. it’s not made for dogs and it is potentially dangerous if your dog does not stay on the paved trail along the perimeter. you have to have a well trained dog and a lot of awareness to come here. great local spot to let the dog cool off on a super hot day. it is not well maintained, the crowd is not too dog friendly, polluted, goose manure all over the field lol. but it’s a dirty dog world out there sometimes. it’s great if it’s close, I wouldn’t travel more than 10 minutes to see this one tho.
