Lovely cabin and stay

We stayed here in August 2021. In short, the cabin was beautiful and clean and had everything we needed. The view of the mountains from the lower level bedroom was magnificent and so relaxing that you just wanted to stay there all day! Our two small dogs were happy there and we were able to relax with them out on the front porch by the fireplace because it was enclosed with railings and a gate that latched. The hot tub was clean and relaxing as well.

We live in Ohio and had never been to the Smoky Mountains before. I tend to catastrophize things/parts unknown so I let my imagination get away from me worrying about the prospect of waking up with bugs crawling all over me, getting stung to death outside by a festering nest of murder hornets, our little dogs being bitten by a rattlesnake while going to the bathroom, getting ripped to shreds by a bear, being the target in a carefully laid out plan by a serial killer looking for victims in a remote area, or careening off the side of a mountain after getting stuck in the mud going uphill. Especially the part of flying off a mountaintop....so yeah, other reviewers mentioned the scary drive up to the cabin so that had me in utter dread of the drive. The only trouble we had was on the day we were leaving, a pack of three dogs were surrounding us outside the cabin while we were loading our things into the truck. The smallest dog was barking fiercely at us and was lunging at our dogs. It was unnerving trying to quickly get in the car with our dogs. In doing so, we were so distracted and pressured to get away from them, my husband inadvertently left the gate open to our truck and we lost several items from the back coming down the mountain. Thank goodness we switched drivers before getting on the highway and noticed the gate, otherwise we may have lost our suitcase with important items/electronics in it. We drove all the way back to the cabin to look for the things we lost and recovered most of them but not without damage unfortunately. All in all, we loved our stay here and will have fond memories of our vacation.
