I am a project manager in a large bank, live in MN and we have two Lurchers or Staghounds - Shae is Greyhound x Scottish Deerhound and Barley is Greyhound x Borzoi x Irish Wolfhound. They are pretty good travelers

Convenient location & quiet
TownePlace Suites Marriott JoplinVery petite friendly check in - because we have two larger dogs and planned check in was late, I asked if we could have a first floor room to make for easy potty outings and they accommodated. Room was clean & comfortable - kitchenette was set up with pots, pans, cutlery, plates, etc. If needed. We were cozy and slept well! As others said, grassy places to walk your pup are good sized and easy to access.
Comfortable & accomodating
Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott BeloitWe checked in late & had let them know in advance we would. Everything was smooth, room was comfortable, clean and quiet. We all had a good rest before resuming travels the next day. Location is not too far from Interstate, but sort of a convoluted path to get there and rather industrial area. Late at night the city streets getting there were not as well lit as they would be more in town, but hotel parking lot was well lit. So 5 bones for room and service. Just be aware of the route from Interstate.
Good Room, Service & Nice Staff
AmericInn by Wyndham Rapid CityHappy with room and service. Staff was friendly and pleasant and kind to the dogs. Hotel is just off the Interstate and easy to get to - it sits among a sea of other hotels and this is the only down side. They are all sort of packed together and the only place to walk and relieve your dog is a verge of undeveloped space which is partly mowed, but isn't grass. It's mowed scrubby prickly stuff bordering taller scrubby prickly stuff. It is workable - just not ideal and a bit unnerving when we needed an outing at 3 AM.
Quirky, Adorable, Accommodating
Arrowhead MotelFriendly owner, clean rooms that have been updated in a charming DIY sort of way. They have made sure there are plenty of desktop outlets and charging ports for devices. Individual HVAC units - the owner had turned up the heat because temp was dropping the night we checked in and we were coming in late, which was very kind. This cheerful place would make an excellent addition to The Rosebud Motel Group. There is a resident kitty whose framed photo, bed and toys sit in the motel office and we saw her on patrol in the parking lot. Owner told me she had been dumped, injured, a few years ago by a tourist and they took her in and got her treatment. This place has heart.
Thoughtfully Designed Dog Exercise Area and Average Room
Best Western Plains MotelWe checked in about 10 PM as we were hitting lots of sites as we traveled. We had advised check in would be late and got a call, which was appreciated, to say front desk would shut down at 10:30. So we hustled and got there in time - likely we were last or near last to check in. Busy hotel. We were given an extra large dog biscuit for each dog and information on the designated dog exercise are which is small, but mostly fenced in and thoughtfully designed with some really nice touches. There is a pergola and a bench for humans (5 bones on this!). Waste disposal basket and waste bags right there. Room was comfortable and largish, but did have a subtle smell of damp. We were comfortable enough and grateful for the dog friendly touches and service. Toiletries are underwhelming (no conditioner), but they are there! Points for towel art on the part of housekeeping!
Cozy, VERY Dog Friendly and a Great Value
Lakeside Lodge Resort and MarinaWe found Lakeside Lodge & Marina via BringFido, but ended up booking directly as the availability did not seem to sync with what I saw at the Lodge's website. But I am really grateful BringFido pointed us to this resort and Pinedale. Could not be happier about our 5 night stay. The Standard Cabins are the only dog friendly rooms, but they are just wonderful. We loved the deck, the lake, the gas fireplace, Adirondack chairs and the peace and quiet of the place. It is not so many miles from Jackson, but worlds away in terms of atmosphere. Just so serene compared to Jackson's more frenetic energy and business. Pet waste disposal stations with waste bags between cabins.
They provided colorful sheets to place atop each be so the pups could enjoy the comfy beds with us while protecting their white bedding. Our dogs had dinner with us on the restaurant deck and were treated with kindness by all of the staff. The value here is astonishing - cabins feel fresh, updated and cozy. There are great toiletries in the bath. Five of five bones on every part of the place. Pinedale has other dog friendly businesses in town, too. Note - there is ample wildlife about - you need to have your dogs on leash. When we were enjoying the picnic table or lake edge or campfire ring (you can buy s'mores kits from guest services) we had them on longer lines, but never loose. We saw many Mule Deer and Moose right on the grounds.
Quiet, clean & comfortable
Holiday Inn Express & Suites Montpelier an IHG HotelLots of green space around the building to exercise our Greyound mixes' long legs. Room was reasonably quiet and we all got a good night's sleep. The location is very convenient from the interstate.
