There’s everything to love at Rising Silos!
Rising Silo BreweryThe microbrews are fabulous, the food is very good, the views are breathtaking, the seating outdoors and fire pits are a great place to relax with your best friend, and when there’s live music, the place rocks in the best way possible!
Great location and dog friendly
Hyatt Place Blacksburg UniversityThe hotel is very welcoming towards dogs. Has waste stations with bags in its green space.
History, Nature, and Dog Lover's Paradise!
The Essex InnWe found the rest, relaxation, and renewal we needed during our 2-night stay with Greg and Jennifer at their historic 1854 Essex Inn. Kudos to a couple who decided to restore and open an inn during the pandemic! Greg is a former history teacher, dedicated to exploring, interpreting, and sharing the history of the inn and Tappahannock. Behind the house is a building which housed servants and enslaved people, where guests with dogs stay. Inside the main house and its restored rooms, he serves a huge breakfast of locally sourced produce, eggs, meats and sausage. I fell in love with the espresso machine! We enjoyed everything from hiking trails in wildlife preserves to historic sites like Menokin and Stratford Hall, and the range of down-home to fine dining in Tappahannock and nearby Warsaw. This was just the fun, relaxing, break we needed!
Best Dog Menu ANYWHERE!!!
NN BurgerNN Burger offers no fewer than four great specialties for your dog, and humans eat exceptionally well here, too. The “pup cup” here is off the hook!
Excellent 2-star Hotel
Amsterdam HotelIf you and your pet(s) are traveling on a tight budget, then this is as good as it gets. Amsterdam Hotel is right off I-95 and near the train station, with a Walgreen's across the street. The staff are super friendly, kind, and accommodating, and I felt safe there. It is a 2-star hotel, so yes, many amenities are dated or most basic quality, but it's a safe and pleasant bargain.
Always Reliable
Comfort Inn Blacksburg University AreaI've stayed several times with my dog at the Comfort Inn Blacksburg. The accommodations are always clean, the bedding is comfortable, and there's a lovely green space in the back for dogs. El Mariachi next door is good, especially after a harrowing road trip on I-81. Thumbs up, Comfort Inn Blacksburg!
Sleep Inn Staunton was a winner!
Sleep Inn StauntonI was feeling drowsy at the wheel on I-81, so I got on BringFido and searched for a dog-friendly hotel in Staunton or Harrisonburg, VA. Sleep Inn was highly rated by many users, and it was good value, so I booked a room. The staff were courteous and friendly, the room was very clean and comfortable, and I had a good night's sleep rather than dodging semi-trucks in the rain and sleet on I-81.
