My husband and I with our two Doberman Pinschers are traveling the country, nomad-style, WWOOFing for organic farms or staying in AirBnBs along the way!

Green

Edmond Dog Park at Bickham-Rudkin Park

We had a great experience at this park. Walk to the way back to exit and access the pond. Lots of infrastructure for the dogs to engage with. Plenty of friendly dogs and owners! Just beware of the deeper green grass, as of mid-April, there are many poo piles...

Brand New

La Quinta by Wyndham Clinton Historic Route 66

After a few nights at Motel 6s and Super 8, This place felt like the Ritz.

Doggie rooms are all ground level and there is grass all around the hotel and parking lot for Fido, even poo bags stations In case you’re unprepared.

Amazing staff. High ceilings in our room, brand new everything like a fancy mini fridge, a small gym, swimming pool, even a shared outdoor patio with seats and a grill...

Adequate!

Red Roof Inn Gallup

Three bones because the staff was extremely friendly, we felt safe, we had parking in front of our door, and the water was hot in the shower.

Squeaky floorboards in the room above us disturbed our sleep for hours though, and the mini fridge was warm upon our arrival.

Still, always grateful for a hotel option with no pet fee.

Lots Of Dogs, Lots Of Fun

Railyard Dog Park

At 3 in the afternoon on a Sunday, this park was packed! Up to 13 dogs at one time with pups constantly coming and going. Tons of tennis balls available to keep fetch friendly. My dobermans had a blast on the “high energy” side and even tho snow had melted everywhere, the well-drained sandy ground prevented a muddy mess. So many happy dogs - we’ll be back.

Huge Field By River

Lien Park

A great big flat grassy field thatwas perfect for playing fetch.

A fence partition on one side deters pups from heading toward the road, an embankment w flowing river enclosing the southeastern sides is an interesting feature to see, and a sizable parking lot next to a standing of trees suggest another park partition for Fido.

One bone less than 5 bc there are no benches, no trees to provide shade, and (even tho this isn’t the parks fault bc they provide poop bags!!!!) there were a lot of poop piles from crappy owners...

But! My husband wanted to rate Lien Park 5 Bones bc the dogs/owners we encountered were great!
