Great for dogs
Norton's Riverside Sports Bar and GrillThis is a good place to go if you have a dog. The outdoor seating is expansive and the tables are far away from each other to not cause problems between dogs. Now…on to the food. My wife order nachos. Incredible! Very tasty ingredients. But the chips were not slathered with cheese…like most places. Instead, they were just in the rest of the food. Not a big deal…just different. I had a melted cheese sandwich which, I’m sure, would’ve been nice, but I got to eating their fries that the sandwich got cold. So, their fries are fabulous! Crispy on the outside and nice on the inside. Service was good. We would recommend it.
nice location and good food
Cracker's Bar & GrillWe took our Havanese with us onto their outside deck where we had a terrific meal….well, I did at least. My wife ordered potato skins which weren’t that great. Too mushy and some weird cheese. I saw a couple of big guys going after their burgers so I went over and asked them what they ordered and if they liked it. YES came the answer. So, I ordered a bacon burger 2/3 of a pound, medium rare with all the fixin’s. It was monstrous! And very good. One of the best burgers in a long time. Ambience was very nice as the sun was setting. Music was nice and soft, not blasting our ears. Wait staff was very friendly and helpful and prompt. Sweet tea was a nice treat. We recommend…just not the potato skins.
Great outside place to eat with our dog
The Little Grille at the DepotWe found this place on the Bring Fido website and, after telling my Wife that we’re “just going to take a drive in the country”, I fooled and surprised her by pulling up to this place. It’s pet-friendly so we sat outside and ordered appetizers only. We decided to eat less from now on when we go out. She went for the nachos, and I had a bowl of chili. You cannot believe the size of the plate for her nachos! It’s an entire meal. But, delicious with so much cheese, jalapenos, tomatoes, corn, salsa, sour cream, guacamole. We had to take half home (which I ate the next day). It seemed that every person we saw leaving had a doggie-bag. On a somewhat busy street so, outside, was some car and truck noise. Wait staff was attentive and friendly. Nice place.
Our Go-To restaurant for breakfast
SkilletsThis is one of our go-to places to have breakfast. It’s dog friendly with a nice patio outside so, because we can take our small dog with us, we like it for that reason. The food portions are very large and we’ve never been disappointed with our choices. Biscuits and gravy are very good. Hash is good. Their potato hash browns are terrific. Service is prompt and helpful. Get there early in the morning because it fills up outside quickly, especially with all the dog owners. We went one time for lunch and their sandwiches are also excellent.
Great location and service
Dockside Waterfront GrillWe went here when they opened for lunch. We were the first people in at 11am. We found out that it's okay to take our small, Havanese dog which was great. One thing though, is that the dog has to be, either in a "pen" or on the floor. They are not allowed on the chairs. Because we had our dog, we got seated closer to the entrance instead of overlooking the harbor. That was fine with us. Service was quick, friendly and helpful. I had the swordfish. It was medium okay. A little too moist for my tastes. My wife had fish and chips which were terrific. We liked our experience and will return.
Great food
Riverside Cafe & RestaurantWe went here in the afternoon for a late lunch. I called to see if we could take our small dog and they said Yes, so we were able to sit on the outside patio to eat. Afternoon sun is pretty strong out there. No shade cloth. Waitresses were friendly and helpful. I ordered the Gyro sandwich. Delicious and HUGE! Fries were nice and crispy and the salad was also delicious. My wife had the Moussaka which was a lot of food…we ended up taking half home. Very tasty. Nice place and a good location near the water. It filled up pretty quickly after we arrived. We recommend it.
CLOSED??
401 West Restaurantwhen I go to Google Maps, it says "Permanently closed and their website does not work either. We're going near there today and confirm.
We recommend
Paws and Paw PawsWe travel a lot and are always looking for a day care for our Havanese dog. We looked at reviews and this place rated well….plus, it was close to our destination for the day. I emailed the vaccination papers up front and registered online so when I showed up, the check in was easy. The office is a little loud, probably because of the hard walls and ceiling. Nice young man came and took our Katie in his arms and back into the pet area. A nice feature is that they have video feed so, while we’re out and about, I can view Katie and, as usual, she sits in a corner for hours. Not much of a social butterfly. Price was lower than expected. I would come here again.
Excellent
Another Broken Egg CafeAs we travel, we check in on bringfido.com to see where we can eat at a restaurant and found this place. The four of us…me, wife, son and Katie…went and sat in their back patio. Nice, nice waitress who adored our Havanese dog. I mean…who wouldn’t? Food was excellent. Eggs Benedict, sausage/bacon omelet, spanish omelet. English muffins were cold so the waitress brought two new ones…hot this time! Nice overlook onto the stores below. Oh, the coffee was fabulous. So nice to get a decent cup of coffee instead of all that watered down stuff. We recommend this place.
Nice nice location overlooking the river
Maglieaux's Riverfront RestaurantThis was a nice restaurant. The best part was the patio that overlooked the river and the fact that we could bring our small dog with us. The gumbo was good, fries were good, the mini-meat pies were good, especially with the remoulade sauce. The Po-Boy…not so much. They brought the bread, shrimp and toppings separate so that my wife had to make her own. This is not the way we’re used to. Waitress was friendly and helpful. Place was quiet and attractive.
Friendly staff, good food
Max's TableCame for breakfast as soon as they opened. Took an outside patio table. Wait staff were very friendly and helpful. Brought a bowl for Katie, our Havanese. Food was excellent and LOTS of it. Traffic noise was there but not that noticeable. The inside of the restaurant looked even better. Clean restrooms. We'll be back.
Good food, beer and PETS are welcome
Potosi Brewing CompanyThis is a nice out-of-the-way place to eat. There's an outdoor patio where you can bring your dog and they'll bring water for her/him. Beer is good. Get a sampler. Food is delicious. Come early as it gets crowded right away. We go here every time we visit this area of Wisconsin.
Well worth it...and dog friendly !
Urban TacoWe sat with our Havanese outside on their patio several times. You order inside and then, they either bring it out, or you wait for it and then bring it out. Absolutely delicious ! Incredible food. We had a HUGE burrito and quesadilla and both were scrumptious. Service was attentive and the food was terrific!! We'll be back again and again.
Nice patio
BrewBurgersWe've been here several times, mostly because it's a comfortable outdoor area that we can take our Havanese but...also for the Ginormous and tasty burgers. Terrific fries as well.
Nice view, good seating
Old Salty DogWe've been here twice already, both times with our Havanese, Katie. You go around the back and enter that way....or, sometimes the hostess will let us carry her in (when we the first people there). Terrific view of the harbor and the goings on. Food is excellent. Large portions. Good drinks. Upbeat staff. It can get chilly and breeze because the awnings will block the sun so you will have to sit closer to the indoor part to block the wind but they will sometimes put the curtains down to help. We'll go again.
