Sand Ridge State Forest
Leashed dogs are welcome at Sand Ridge State Forest in Forest City and Topeka, IL. This 7,200-acre pet-friendly forest is the largest state forest in Illinois and is an island in a sea of agriculture. This park is paradise for dogs who love to explore, with 44 miles of marked trails, that vary in length from 1.5 miles to 15 miles, and 120 miles of fire lanes that can double as hiking trails.
