Summer-time cool
Scruffy, checking the temp. before he gets in the pool...
Maudslay is a great place to bring your dog. I often bring mine and even let her run off-leash in some of the quieter sections of the park. The park is always well maintained with a huge selection of walking paths with views of the Merrimack River.
The Newburyport side of the beach (north of 47th St) allows dogs in the off season anytime, and Memorial Day to Labor Day before 9AM and after 5PM. On the Newbury side, dogs are “never” allowed. But in reality, residents just follow the same rules as the Newburyport beach. Dogs are not allowed south of Jackson Way in the southern end because that is where the reservation beach starts. It’s a wildlife sanctuary.
Maudslay is a great area to explore with your dog. Parking is $2/car for Mass residents and $10/car for out of state. Parking kiosk is currently closed due to covid-19 so park access is free for the time being.
