Nice year round.
Sleepy Hollow State ParkMiles of trails and paved road for those who don't want to risk muddy paws. Dog beach for those hot days.
Down sides: requires park pass. Best advice is to get a yearly pass (gets you into all state parks!), dog beach is rather small and shore is dirt, not sand ( but there is talk of improving shore conditions), there is not a clearly defined "dog park" and park rules require leash use with six foot maximum length.
Despite the above mentioned, "minor" negative aspects a great place to take the pups for a day of swimming and hiking!
Make sure to bring water.
Giving Roma's a second chance
Roma's Back DoorThe following was posted the day of our incident. The following day we received a message apologizing for what was a miscommunication among staff regarding the pet policies, We were assured that this mistake would not happen again and we were invited back and asked to give Roma's a chance to make things right.
We understand that mistakes happen and with pets and restaurants certain guidelines must be adhered to With this in consideration we're going to give Roma's a second chance. This has been the only bad experience here and first attempted visit with my dog.
On previous visits food and service have always been good . That being said, we are wiling to give Roma's a second chance.
This place is a joke!
I called 45 minutes prior to arrival and was told that my dog and me would be welcome on the patio.
Upon arrival we were told that we were welcome..........unless anyone else wanted to sit on the patio, then my dog would have to be tied up outside the fence or wait in the car. That's not happening!
Employee was very nice trying to diffuse the situation but bottom line, not a dog friendly place!
